The Overlord [Shin] Sekai-hen manga has announced a hiatus. The pause in publication is due to the artist, Matsuki, being hospitalized. The announcement was made via Matsuki's X/Twitter account.

This sequel manga began serialization in Kadokawa's Comp Ace magazine in April 2024. It continues the narrative from the middle of the 10th volume of the original Overlord manga adaptation, focusing on events after Ainz's victory on the Katze Plains and the establishment of his magical nation.

Series Background

Kadokawa released the fourth compiled book volume of Overlord [Shin] Sekai-hen on March 26. The original Overlord manga adaptation, by Hugin Miyama and Satoshi Ōshio, launched in Comp Ace in 2014 and concluded its first part in May 2023. Its 19th volume was published by Kadokawa in December 2023, with Yen Press releasing the English version in October 2024.

The broader Overlord franchise originates from Kugane Maruyama's light novel series, which began online in 2010. Kadokawa's Enterbrain imprint started publishing the print version with illustrations by so-bin in 2012. The light novel series' 16th volume was released in July 2022, and it is slated to conclude with its 18th volume. Yen Press also handles the North American release of the light novels.
