Aniplex USA recently streamed a new English-subtitled trailer for the original anime film, Grotesqqque. The film, previously known as Grotesque, is an omnibus film featuring three distinct stories, each with different worldviews. It is scheduled to premiere in Japan on November 6.

Production Details and Creative Team

Atsushi Nishigori is directing the film, in addition to writing the screenplay and designing the characters. The opening theme song, "Shoot Shoot Shoot," is performed by the band METALVERSE, while Haoto performs the ending theme song with lyrics by momosu momosu.

Grotesqqque is a production from JOEN, a company formed through a collaboration between Sony media subsidiary Aniplex, its CloverWorks animation studio, Production I.G sister company Wit Studio, and publisher Shueisha. Yūichi Fukushima, a producer from CloverWorks, and Tetsuya Nakatake, a producer from Wit Studio, serve as the representative directors of JOEN.

International Screenings

The film had its world premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal, which ran from July 16 to August 2. The Japan Society, in collaboration with CloverWorks and Aniplex of America, will host the U.S. premiere of the film in New York City on October 8. Director Nishigori is expected to provide an in-person introduction before the screening.
