About BLESS
BLESS tells the story of Aia Utagawa, a young man scouted as a model, who secretly dreams of becoming a makeup artist. As high school nears its end, Aia hides his ambition, fearing to step outside his established role. His path changes when he meets Jun, a quiet classmate self-conscious about her freckle-covered face.
Aia convinces Jun to participate in a school runway fashion contest, with him doing her makeup. This collaboration proves transformative for both. Jun discovers newfound confidence, and Aia learns the value of facing difficulties when pursuing something deeply important, even if it means risking failure.
The original BLESS manga by Yukino Sonoyama began serialization in January 2022. To date, nine volumes have been released in Japan. Kodansha USA is responsible for releasing the English-language version of the manga series.
