Black Clover Season 2 Reportedly Set for 26 Episodes, Split into Two Parts

Reports indicate that Black Clover Season 2 is slated to adapt the remaining chapters of Yuki Tabata’s manga across a total of 26 episodes. The sequel is expected to be delivered in two distinct parts, spanning the years 2026 and 2027. The anime is scheduled to resume on October 3, 2026, following a prolonged hiatus. Speculation regarding the episode count for the sequel has been ongoing, with both 24 and 26 episodes being widely discussed possibilities. With the premiere date approaching, new information circulating online points to a 26-episode run for the series.

Episode Breakdown and Arcs

The first part of Black Clover Season 2 is reported to consist of 13 episodes and will cover the Spade Kingdom Raid Arc. The subsequent 13 episodes are reportedly planned for release in 2027 and are expected to adapt the manga’s Final Arc. There are currently 122 chapters of the Black Clover manga that have yet to be adapted into anime form. If the 26-episode count holds true, each episode would adapt approximately 4 to 5 manga chapters. The original TV anime series concluded its run after 170 episodes, having adapted the manga up to Chapter 270. It is noted that the reported 13-episode count for the second part is based on current planning and may be subject to change.

Production Details

Ayataka Tanemura is set to direct Black Clover Season 2. Tanemura's previous work includes directing episodes 153 through 170 of the original Black Clover anime, as well as the 2023 film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King. The Black Clover anime began an indefinite hiatus on March 30, 2021, after a continuous four-year broadcast. This decision was primarily made because the anime's production had nearly caught up to Yuki Tabata’s ongoing manga source material. To avoid extensive non-canon filler content or outpacing the author, the production committee chose to suspend the weekly series.
