Snowball Earth Manga Enters Final Arc, Reaches 1 Million Copies in Circulation

The Snowball Earth manga, created by Yuhiro Tsujitsugu, has achieved a new milestone, surpassing 1 million copies in circulation. This announcement was made by Tsujitsugu on their X (formerly Twitter) account. In addition to this circulation update, Tsujitsugu also revealed that the manga is now entering its final arc, signaling the approaching conclusion of the series. A special illustration was drawn by Tsujitsugu to commemorate the 1 million copies in circulation achievement.

Series Background and Publication

The Snowball Earth manga first launched in Shogakukan's Monthly Spirits magazine in 2021. The story is set in 2025, when Earth faces an invasion by extraterrestrial beasts. Humanity's defense relies on a giant robot named Yukio, piloted by Tetsuo Yabusame. Following a devastating battle, Tetsuo awakens eight years later to find Earth transformed into a "Snowball Earth," a world covered in ice and snow. The narrative explores the mystery of this frozen planet and Tetsuo's quest to fulfill a promise.

Shogakukan is scheduled to release the 12th compiled book volume of Snowball Earth on September 30. For English-speaking audiences, Viz Media will publish the 10th volume on December 15.

Anime Adaptation Details

An anime adaptation of Snowball Earth premiered on NTV's extended Friday night programming block on April 3. Hulu streamed the anime as it aired. The anime adaptation has also been confirmed to receive a second season.
