LIAR GAME Season 2 Anime Confirmed to Be in Production

The television anime adaptation of LIAR GAME has officially announced that a second season is currently in production. This news was accompanied by a celebratory image, specifically illustrated by character designer Kei Tsuchiya. The announcement confirms the continuation of the psychological battle series for fans.

At present, further details regarding the second season, such as its release date, have not been disclosed. The first season introduced viewers to Nao Kanzaki, who finds herself entangled in the high-stakes LIAR GAME after receiving a mysterious letter and 100 million yen. The game revolves around deception and betrayal, leading the naive Nao to seek the help of Shinichi Akiyama, a former con artist, to navigate its challenges. The central question of the series explores whether honesty can prevail in a game built entirely on lies.

The anime's production team includes Yuzo Sato as chief director at animation studio MADHOUSE, with Asami Kawano serving as director. Tatsuhiko Urahata is responsible for the series composition and scripts, while Kei Tsuchiya handles the character designs. The music for the series is composed by Yugo Kanno.
