From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman Season 3 Officially Announced

The popular anime series, From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman, has been officially renewed for a third season. The announcement confirms the return of the adaptation based on Shigeru Sagazaki’s light novel series. A new visual was released alongside the announcement, and the official website also featured congratulatory comments from Hiroaki Hirata, the voice actor for Beryl Gardenant.

While the new season has been confirmed, specific details regarding its release timing have not yet been disclosed. Fans will need to await further announcements for information on when they can expect to see Beryl Gardenant back on screen.

Series Background

Shigeru Sagazaki originally began publishing the From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman light novels on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in November 2020. Square Enix publishes a print version of the series under their SQEX Novel imprint, featuring illustrations by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima. As of the announcement, 11 volumes have been published in Japan.

The second season of the anime was directed by Akio Kazumi, with series composition by Kunihiko Okada. Satsuki Hayasaki handled character designs and served as chief animation director, while Yasuharu Takanashi composed the music. Animation studios Passione and Hayabusa film were responsible for the production of season two. The anime is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
