On YouTube, I created two Call of Duty commentary videos talking about my thoughts on the recently released game.
The first video, I shared my thoughts on the multiplayer of Call of Duty Modern Warfare.
In the second video, I shared my thoughts on the campaign.
They’re fairly short videos so please take a moment to watch them as some of the talking points in each video will be mentioned in this post.
Done watching? Okay, let’s get started with the topic of this post which is regarding Activision’s decision to release a new Call of Duty game every year. Personally, I think Activision needs to stop doing this and create a new model for releasing these games. By releasing every year, developers had to constantly innovate the game. While innovation is great, as mentioned in my multiplayer thoughts video, having so much in the game caused developers to put gunplay aside and focus on the innovation parts which caused the multiplayer to suffer which in turn could cause the Call of Duty League to deteriorate.
While I believe they should not release a new game each year, I doubt Activision will ever do this. What I think they should end up doing is just release new campaign story. Anything new in the campaign like maps, character models and maybe even weapons can be patched into the multiplayer. It wouldn’t drastically change the multiplayer but still give audiences something new every year.
Anyways that’s just a quick addition to my two videos. Hope you enjoyed this post. But that is it for me. I’ll see you all next time!
